Dracula

Overall, I loved reading this book. The plot came together nicely and the characters were both compelling, and interesting to learn about. Dracula wasn't quite "horror" in the way that I was used to, instead of jump scares and gore, it used descriptions and a sense of suspense to build the reader's anxiety. The entire time that I was reading, I felt like the characters were real, which not many horror books can do. It didn't use cliches at all, the plot twists were well thought out and all made sense with what information the book had supplied previously. My only note is that there were a lot of casual sexist remarks made toward the middle, which was off-putting for me, even though I know that this book was made during a time when that was considered okay. It took me a lot of time to get through, but Dracula was definitely worth the read.

I liked that Dragon went Christmas shopping and he gave all his presents away to different people.

It is a short amazing story about a hobo and three kids. The hobo Finds a poor family on the street and helps them. He takes them to a circus, at the end, he got a job as a caretaker and they could have a house by towing it. My favorite part is when they go to a camp. The camps people offer them many places to live. One offered to sleep in a tent, another offered to go into their van/house, and one said that their house was near a bakery so it was always warm. They went to the van/house. The girl was a Gispy and she could read very mysterious signs. But, she had no idea how to read or write. The girl was utterly shocked that she did not know. So then she set up a tiny school right there. You should always learn from this book that is always good to be generous.

Entertaining but predictable storyline - would make a great Hallmark movie - interesting insight to astronaut training & role of pilots versus scientists.

This book is a wonderful tale about a old man named Scrooge, whose business partner named Marley. Scrooge was Grumpy man who was never in the Christmas spirit. But then, one night, he was visited by Marleys ghost. It told Scrooge that next night, he would be visited by three ghosts. One of Christmas past, Christmas present, and Christmas yet to come. At one am exactly. Scrooge was terrified, the next night, Scrooge woke up because of the ghost. The ghost of Christmas past. It teleported Scrooge to a mysterious world. The ghost explained that this was Christmas past. Then, on the dirt road, came a hoard of boys riding horses. Scrooge could name each boy one by one. Then, he appeared into a room with a jolly man in it. He was the Ghost of Christmas present, he showed a shadow of Bobs family, his clerk, they were poor and they had a small goose, a tiny soup, and a bowl of berries. All because Scrooge wasn’t increasing his salary. The Ghost of Christmas yet to come visited him and showed him to a coffin. He pointed at the sheet, covering a man’s body. Scrooge had the message in his mind, take off the cover. Scrooge was to scared to do it, so the ghost took him to a graveyard. The gravestone had his name on it! The second he read it, he woke up. From now on, he treated people with respect. I like this book because Scrooge learns a very important lesson, to treat people with kindness, my favorite part was when Scrooge treated people with kindness.
