Dracula

Overall, I loved reading this book. The plot came together nicely and the characters were both compelling, and interesting to learn about. Dracula wasn't quite "horror" in the way that I was used to, instead of jump scares and gore, it used descriptions and a sense of suspense to build the reader's anxiety. The entire time that I was reading, I felt like the characters were real, which not many horror books can do. It didn't use cliches at all, the plot twists were well thought out and all made sense with what information the book had supplied previously. My only note is that there were a lot of casual sexist remarks made toward the middle, which was off-putting for me, even though I know that this book was made during a time when that was considered okay. It took me a lot of time to get through, but Dracula was definitely worth the read.

This book is a wonderful tale about a old man named Scrooge, whose business partner named Marley. Scrooge was Grumpy man who was never in the Christmas spirit. But then, one night, he was visited by Marleys ghost. It told Scrooge that next night, he would be visited by three ghosts. One of Christmas past, Christmas present, and Christmas yet to come. At one am exactly. Scrooge was terrified, the next night, Scrooge woke up because of the ghost. The ghost of Christmas past. It teleported Scrooge to a mysterious world. The ghost explained that this was Christmas past. Then, on the dirt road, came a hoard of boys riding horses. Scrooge could name each boy one by one. Then, he appeared into a room with a jolly man in it. He was the Ghost of Christmas present, he showed a shadow of Bobs family, his clerk, they were poor and they had a small goose, a tiny soup, and a bowl of berries. All because Scrooge wasn’t increasing his salary. The Ghost of Christmas yet to come visited him and showed him to a coffin. He pointed at the sheet, covering a man’s body. Scrooge had the message in his mind, take off the cover. Scrooge was to scared to do it, so the ghost took him to a graveyard. The gravestone had his name on it! The second he read it, he woke up. From now on, he treated people with respect. I like this book because Scrooge learns a very important lesson, to treat people with kindness, my favorite part was when Scrooge treated people with kindness.

I liked the way that Snake had a sudden change of heart when he actually helped on the mission. I also liked that he sneakily ate some chickens.

This is a book about a boy named Oliver who was an orphan. He was so brave. When he was at a work house, he asked for more gravel to eat when he was not supposed to. He first went to a workhouse, with more people working. The owner, mr. Bumble, was neither kind, or generous. On Oliver’s ninth birthday, he took him to mr. Limbskins. He suggested that Oliver should work for a man named Fagin. He was a member in a group of thieves. He was very rich. Pleasantly gave lovely food. One day, they played a game. It was of memory. Oliver learned it very quickly. He surprised Fagin. He gave him two silver coins and praised him and told everyone else to do the same and learn like him. One night, he could not sleep. He saw Fagin riches. He was scared that he would tell so he told him to keep it a secret. My favorite part was the end. When he was adopted by a kind man.

This is a great story. Continued from The wild robot, Roz got shipped. By a farmer with two kids. The robot and the kids play hide and seek. Te wolves tried to attack the cows, but Roz threatened them with a gun! Roz could talk too the cows, and they were very nice. You know that Roz can talk to animals if you read book one. But Roz got an improvement at the beginning of the story. When doctor Movlo gave Roz a improvement. She was now stronger, faster, and she was now water proof! The kids loved listening to Roz’es stories, because Roz’es brain was full of them, she was very happy too share her stories. She told one about a robot on a island full of animals. The robot had to survive on the island. Suddenly, the kids found out that the robot was Roz! The kids and Roz were playing very happy, but one day, Roz told the kids that she really wanted to go back home. The kids told them that she should just run away. The boy said that he runs away all the time. But Roz said that she could not run away because there was a part. The kids went to their secret cabin and it took them three tries. On the first try, Roz could not speak. On the second try, she could not move. On the third try she finally did it! And she ran off. That. Was my favorite part.
